At Rainbolt Maine Coons, we generally do not advertise our kittens when they are very young or take early deposits. We prefer to give our kittens time to grow, develop, socialize and show us who they really are before introducing them to prospective families.

Our kittens never leave for their new homes before 12 weeks of age. We believe there is much more to a Maine Coon than size, color or appearance. Their personalities are truly the best part, and waiting gives us time to get to know each kitten individually so we can tell prospective families about the kitten they are considering—not just show them a picture.

All vaccinations are administered by our veterinarian. We do not give our own vaccines. At 12 weeks, each kitten receives a hands-on veterinary examination and veterinary testing for FIV, FeLV and heartworm, with negative results documented in the kitten's veterinary records.

Kittens staying with us until approximately 16 weeks receive another hands-on veterinary examination and complete their additional age-appropriate kitten vaccinations.

Health starts with our breeding cats as well. All Rainbolt Maine Coons breeding cats are DNA tested and cleared, and we do not breed known carriers.

Waiting until our kittens are truly ready also helps protect families in a time when kitten scams and kittens being placed too young are unfortunately common. We are happy to speak personally with serious prospective families, provide vet and family references, and offer FaceTime so you can meet an available kitten and learn more about his or her personality.

When you see a kitten listed as available at Rainbolt Maine Coons, that kitten is ready for us to talk with you about becoming part of your family.

Contact us to learn more about our available kittens, schedule a FaceTime visit, or ask to be notified when future kittens are ready for their new families. We do not take early deposits on very young kittens—we prefer to introduce them once they are ready and we know more about their personalities.
